AGES 12+

In this class I will teach middle school level essay writing skills. The class focuses on the format of the 5 paragraph essay. I will teach students about essay structure, organization, and literary devices to improve their writing. This is a highly academic class, and students should enter with the expectation that there will be weekly homework and mandatory zoom meetings with me to discuss their writing. In this class I communicate directly with the students, and CC the parents. So all students need to have an email address that they check regularly.

Skills required: 

Students need to be able to use the internet to find information, be able to write 2-3 paragraphs and express an opinion, be able to type, and know how to communicate via email.

 

Homework:

There will be weekly homework, as well as three zoom meetings with me outside of class per semester.
